A firefighter came to the rescue of a pup who fell through ice Monday morning in Castle Pines Village.

Crews with South Metro Fire Rescue were called to the 4300 block of Prospect Drive at about 10:30 a.m. after receiving a call for a dog in distress.

Firefighter Goebel responded to the scene and was able to get the dog out of water safely. South Metro posted a photo of the relieved dog on Twitter.

Great work, firefighters!
