DENVER — A man was killed in a shooting in east Denver Thursday morning.
Denver Police Department (DPD) said just after 9 a.m. that officers were investigating the shooting that happened in the 8800 block of East 12th Avenue. That's near Yosemite Street and East 12th Avenue in East Denver.
The victim, identified by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner as 47-year-old Marquise Harris, was transported to an area hospital with a gunshot wound. Police said just before 5 p.m. that he died due to that injury.
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and develop suspect information, police tweeted.
