Teen dies after police say he was shot, dropped off at urgent care

Police are investigating the teenage boy's death as a homicide.

DENVER — A teenage boy died after police said he was shot and then brought to an urgent care in Denver Wednesday night.

According to the Denver Police Department (DPD), the 17-year-old was shot in the 2600 block of West Mexico Avenue at about 5:13 p.m.

Someone then brought the teen to an urgent care facility in the 1300 block of South Federal Boulevard just before 5:30 p.m. and left him there. 

That's near South Federal Boulevard and West Louisiana Avenue.

Police said after the boy was dropped off, he was brought to a local hospital, where he was declared deceased.

His death is being investigated as a homicide, according to police. 

DPD said they are working to identify the person who brought the teen to the urgent care facility. They do not have a description of that person or the vehicle they were driving at this time.
