House fire in Denver seriously injures person

Denver Fire said the fire near the intersection East 47th Avenue and Williams Street was upgraded to a second alarm because of cold weather conditions.

DENVER — Denver Fire said a person was seriously injured in a house fire Saturday morning.

The department posted at 8:41 a.m. on social media that crews were on scene near the intersection of East 47th Avenue and Williams Street. That's a few blocks east of the National Western Complex.

At 9:23 a.m., the department said the fire was upgraded to a second alarm because of cold weather conditions.

The victim was transported to Denver Health and their status was listed as critical.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
