The man accused of setting his neighbor's home on fire in Federal Heights has been formally charged with several counts of attempted murder, the District Attorney's Office said Tuesday.
Steven Richard Truetken was arrested last week after police say he admitted to dousing his neighbor's home - as well as part of his own residence - in gasoline before setting fire to the mobile homes near 92nd Avenue and Pecos Street on Jan. 17.
The neighbor was inside the home when it burst into flames, police said.

The fire also prompted a bomb squad call-out and nearby homes were evacuated for safety when police say they discovered dozens of improvised explosive devices inside the home.
On Tuesday, the Adams/Broomfield County District Attorney announced Truetken would be formally charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree arson and possession and use of explosives in connection to the fire.
He also faces charges of menacing, aggravated cruelty to animals, and the sentencing enhancer of "crime of violence."
