Survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School massacre in Parkland, Florida started the movement.

Rally-goers will gather at the park between the city building and the state building, before beginning there march. Lyft is even offering free rides to anyone going to get to the rally in Denver.

The board of 'Never Again Colorado' will have several speakers at the event, including Reverend Tammy Williams, who will lead attendees in a moment of silence; Tish Beauford, organizer of the Denver Women's March; Tom Mauser, father of Daniel Mauser, who was killed in the 1999 Columbine shooting - among several others.

The marchers are calling on local, state and national leaders to enact stronger gun laws in an effort to make schools safer, according to a news release from the organizers.

The rally is expected to end around 5 p.m.

9NEWS attended a before-march meeting by organizers earlier this week. Organizers were excited and hopeful their march would affect change.

"We have the power. We're as much of a person who's able to go standup as anybody else," said 17-year-old Jaden Rosard.

He's on the Never Again Colorado board and an organizer.

"And I think this is about common-sense gun legislation, about public safety, about gun reform," he explained. "That doesn't mean taking away the second amendment, that's not what we're about."

Sixth-grader Haven Coleman, also a Never Again Colorado board member, said that he just wants to keep his family safe.

"My little sister is going to go into preschool soon and I don't want somebody to shoot her school," the 11-year-old said. "When you see all these people, it makes you feel you're not alone, you can make change, you'll do it! It's awesome."

Karyn Lane, a junior at DSST: Collegeview High School in southwest Denver, will also march on Saturday. She told 9NEWS she believes this is the cause for her generation.

"I want to be a part of it because I feel like so much has gone on that it takes somebody who's not scared to stand up and like show that we're young, but I want to fight," she said.

She said she's marching for stricter gun laws; she believes you shouldn't be able to buy a gun until you're at least 21 years old. She added that she thinks it's about more than just gun control and security at schools.

"But money put in somewhere with social workers and people coming to help everybody at the school and not just create a new, stricter way of watching everybody," she said. "We need that type of care in schools now."

We will have several crews at the march, and 9NEWS will stream the events as they happen live on 9NEWS.com and our Facebook page.
