DENVER — Emergency notifications to cell phones, like Amber Alerts or national wireless emergency system alerts from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, should appear as push notifications as long as phones have on that setting.
Additionally, counties in Colorado can send alerts via text or call in an emergency, like a wildfire, but residents must opt in to receive them.
This is how people on the Front Range can sign up to get emergency notifications from their specific county. Colorado also has this master list of ways to sign up for alerts in all counties.
NOTE: Aurora, Thornton and Westminster alerts are not necessarily grouped in with their respective counties. Look for information below.

BROOMFIELD CITY AND COUNTY, JEFFERSON COUNTY & WESTMINSTER
These local governments, which previously used CodeRED, moved into one new system in April 2022.
The new system, called LookoutAlert, covers Jefferson County, the City and County of Broomfield and the City of Westminster.
LookoutAlert replaces the CodeRED system that each municipality used. Residents who had already signed up for CodeRED alerts were automatically moved to the new system. Anyone looking to sign up to receive alerts can do so at LookoutAlert.co.
