A third search for an 87-year-old Arvada man reported missing last week has yielded no results, Golden Police said in a news release Tuesday afternoon.
James Mitchell’s pickup truck was found abandoned and crashed into a railcar in Golden on Thursday morning. There was blood inside the truck cab, Golden Police say.
Since then, search crews have canvassed several miles of paths and trails, rugged hillsides and residential areas for any trace of Mitchell.
These searches involved bloodhounds, cadaver dogs and drones – but all three searches have come up short, Golden Police said.
The third search, which was on Wednesday morning, will be the last one conducted on foot, Golden Police said.
Nevertheless, the investigation into Mitchell’s disappearance persists.
He possibly suffers from dementia, Golden Police said, and does not have any identification on him or a cell phone.
