Ashton Brooks is a Digital Video Producer and Co-Host of The Culture Report at 9NEWS in Denver, Colorado.
He joined the 9NEWS team in April 2022.
He is a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in the United States and Al Udeid, Qatar during his 6-year service.
Prior to coming to Denver, he began his professional career in Public Media in New York. During his time there, he produced a weekly science talk show which he later won his first Emmy award for.
Ashton later joined Chaos+Comrades where he produced documentaries on LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. His series “Black Women and Microaggressions In The Workplace” was featured on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah in 2020.
He is a Texas native but a self-proclaimed Brooklynite. After graduating high school a year early, he joined the military where he worked in aircraft supply and logistics.
Ashton attended New York Film Academy and later earned his Master’s in Publishing at New York University in 2021.
He is passionate about social justice issues and the representation of marginalized communities in media.
In his free time, Ashton loves being creative, singing, recording music, and binging the latest TV series, documentaries, and movies.
