Richard Cote is a Digital Desk Producer at 9NEWS in Denver, Colorado.
Before joining the 9NEWS team in 2017, Richard spent four years on the assignment desk at Denver’s KMGH.
Originally from Los Alamos, a small town in northern New Mexico, Richard spent many of his summers in Colorado, camping and hiking many of the 14ers with his friends.
Richard got his start in journalism in Albuquerque, New Mexico back in 2006. He was hired as a studio camera operator while finishing his degree in broadcast journalism at the University of New Mexico. He then got his first job as an assignment editor at KRQE, the local CBS affiliate in the “Duke City.” Two years later, Richard would move across the parking lot to KOB where he spent the next three years of his career.
During his time in the Albuquerque market, he helped cover major wildfires, Albuquerque’s International Balloon Fiesta, and New Mexico’s centennial celebration.
In 2012, he got the opportunity to finally move to Colorado and continues to find and enjoy all of the things that make this state interesting and unique.
