O.A.R. announces Red Rocks return in 2020

O.A.R. will visit Colorado's storied Red Rocks Amphitheatre in August 2020.

MORRISON, Colo — O.A.R. is coming back to Colorado this summer.

The rock band will perform at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Friday, Aug. 14.

Tickets for the Colorado show go on sale Friday, Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. at AXS.com or by phone at 888-929-7849. Prices range from $50 to $90.

“Richie Sambora announced us at Red Rocks as ‘The Mighty O.A.R.’ a few years back,” said O.A.R. member Jerry DePizzo. “Those two words just stuck with us, and Marc suggested we use it as the album title. We have a great sense of pride in the career we’ve had up to this point. The term wraps up who the band is in 2019. It feels good to us.”

Known for their nine albums and sold-out stands at Red Rocks and Madison Square Garden, O.A.R. consists of Marc Roberge [lead vocals, rhythm guitar], Richard On [lead guitar, backing vocals], Chris Culos [drums], Benj Gershman [bass], and Jerry DePizzo [saxophone, guitar, backing vocals, additionally Mikel Paris [keys, backing vocals, percussion] and Jon Lampley [trumpet, backing vocals].

“We’re fortunate as (heck) to have done this for over two decades,” said Culos. “We’ve done it together. We have each other’s backs, and we’re a family.  There’s a feeling of freedom in that.”

Located just west of the Mile High City, Red Rocks Park features 738 acres of hiking trails, geological wonders, and astounding views.  

Owned and operated by the City of Denver, Colorado, the concert venue at Red Rocks Park has been home to some of the most iconic concerts in history, from artists such as The Beatles, U2, and Sting.
