DENVER - The Colorado Convention Center has transformed into America's most coveted garage for the weekend.

It doesn't get better than 500 new vehicles and 39 car lines all under one roof for you to see up close.

The 2014 Denver Auto Show kicked off Thursday. From trucks, to hybrids, to vans, to crossovers and sport utilities, you can test drive what's hot and what's new on the market over the next several days.

Every year, cars are getting high tech. Cars are turning into smart machines just like cellphones. Some have adaptive headlights, intelligent airbags, collision mitigation braking, warning alerts such as lane departures, forward collision, side blind zone and rear cross traffic.

Others even have WiFi hot spots inside the car itself.

EXHIBITING MANUFACTURERS

Acura, Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ferrari, FIAT, Ford, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Lotus, Maserati, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Nissan, Porsche, RAM, Scion, Smart, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volvo and Volkswagen.

Vehicles provided by: Buick, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, FIAT, GMC, Jeep, Kia (Cadenza, Forte, Optima Hybrid, Sorento SX and Soul), Lincoln, Mazda (2014 Mazda6, 2014 CX-5, Mazda3 and CX-9) and RAM. Sign up to drive in the Convention Center lobby.

And the ever popular Camp Jeep is back. Hop on this indoor driving course as you roll over obstacles to demonstrate traction, ground clearance and maneuverability. The course has a vertical climb and descent. Visitors get a free five-minute ride with a professional driver to experience extreme off-roading.
