St. Louis-based barbecue concept Sugarfire Smoke House has opened its first location in Colorado, at 14375 Orchard Pkwy. in Westminster.

Co-founder and Chef Mike Johnson has partnered with Colorado natives Chad and Jamie Green to open the restaurant. The Greens will be majority owners and operators of the 4,000-square-foot restaurant.

Construction on the restaurant, named "Sugarfire Westy," began in March. The restaurant seats 90 and features a full bar that highlights locally made sodas, craft beer and spirits. This is unlike its other locations as none feature a full bar.

Decorations for the interior of the restaurant were commissioned by Denver’s Holden Studios and Angie Nordstrom Design provided interior illustrations. The exterior of the restaurant features a patio that seats an additional 75 guests and has a firepit and interactive games for kids.
