Here are the watering rules in Aurora this summer

Aurora Water offers residents a free Outdoor Water Assessment for a full inspection and recommendations.

AURORA, Colo. — Lawn watering will be only permitted three days per week in Aurora this summer.

Aurora Water announced its "normal watering restrictions" will go into effect May 1.

Under this stage, watering is permitted no more than three days per week beginning Wednesday, May 1. There are will be no watering rules for even or odd addresses under this stage.

From May 1 to Sept. 30, watering is not permitted between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Hand watering of grass lawns follows the same guidelines as an automatic sprinkler system, Aurora Water said. However, watering vegetable or flower gardens by hand is allowed between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

New sod, seed and irrigation systems will require a permit.

Aurora residents can sign up for a free Outdoor Water Assessment from June 1 to Aug. 31 for a full inspection and recommendations on keeping their sprinkler system working efficiently.
