KUSA - Looking for a new friend?

Now you have a "golden" chance to provide a new home for a rescue dog.

Golden Retriever Freedom Rescue stopped by 9NEWS Saturday morning to showcase two friends in need of a home.

Stella is an older Golden Retriever and Bella is a seven-month-old mix.

Golden Retriever Freedom Rescue is a Denver-based rescue organization. Since it was founded in 2001, they have rescued about 30,000 dogs.

Stella is a very friendly nine to 10-year-old golden mix. She gets along well with other dogs and kids.

She does have arthritis, and is currently on a joint supplement. She would not be a good fit at a home where there are a lot of stairs to navigate.

Bella is black with some patches of white on her chest, paws and hind legs. She is house trained and has learned to come to when called, shake and to sit and wait for her food bowl.

She is a bit shy and skittish at first, but is also great on and off a leash walking around the neighborhood.

Bella and Stella are two of 15 to 20 dogs available for adoption through Golden Retriever Freedom Rescue.
