Phoenix is ready for adoption.

DENVER - Phoenix, the cat who was brought to the Dumb Friends League with singed fur and burns all over her body, is ready for adoption.

She was found near the laundry room at an apartment complex in November. The DFL believes she was burned after crawling under a clothes dryer in an effort to stay warm.

Veterinarians at the DFL had to reconstruct Phoenix's ears, remove burned skin and wrap her scorched paw pads in bandages to prevent infection.

Phoenix spent two months recovering in a foster home. She even became friends with a cat who had a similar, but opposite experience. Elsa was found as a kitten nearly frozen in the snow in 2014.

Phoenix is now ready for her forever home. The DFL says she is a resilient cat who, despite her trauma, has been sweet, loving and affectionate during her recovery. She is a special needs cat and needs an adopter who will be patient and understanding of her history and needs.

The Dumb Friends League sent this cute video of Phoenix trying to decide whether she wants to nap or play.

Those interested in adopting Phoenix can contact the DFL at 303-751-5772.
