Film on the Rocks announces 2024 summer schedule

The amphitheater experience includes film screenings of 'The Wizard of Oz,' 'The Matrix' and 'Deadpool.'

DENVER — Colorado's most-picturesque cinema experience is back this summer.

Film on the Rocks will return for a 25th edition with a lineup of movies planned for a full amphitheater schedule, Denver Film and Denver Arts & Venues announced Friday.

"The Matrix" begins the summer film series on Monday, June 10, screening under the stars at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre.

The 85th anniversary of "The Wizard of Oz" will be celebrated with at Red Rocks on Monday, July 8.

Other films this year include "Shrek," "Deadpool," and "Mad Max: Fury Road."

Tickets for the five-event season go on sale Monday, April 29, at 10 a.m. at denverfilm.org. Tickets are $20 for general admission and $35 for VIP reserved seating.

Gates open for Film on the Rocks at 6:30 p.m. with musical guests taking the stage at 7 p.m., followed by the film presentation at 8:30 p.m. 

After two years of drive-in screenings and a limited run of in-amphitheater events in 2021, Film on the Rocks returned to a fully in-amphitheater experience in 2022 and 2023.

Yoga on the Rocks is also coming back to Red Rocks this June, July and August. The 2024 fitness schedule was announced Friday.
