Denver brewery to close after 10 years on South Broadway

The South Broadway brewery posted that "now is the right time to move on."

DENVER — A Denver brewery is closing its doors after more than 10 years in business.

Grandma's House announced Tuesday it will be closing its South Broadway brewery at the end of April.

"We waited until April 2nd, because unfortunately this isn't just a bad joke," Grandma's House posted on social media. "After 10+ years, we will be closing the brewery at the end of April."

"Like any decision of this magnitude, the reasons are complicated. However, after dealing with possibly the worst landlords in all of Denver for quite some time, we've known that this would most likely not be our long-term home, and now is the right time to move on."

Grandma's House is located in the Antique Row stretch of Denver's South Broadway, near East Mexico Avenue, south of Interstate 25. The small brewery said it serves high-quality beers "made with love but free of pretension."

The brewery said it doesn't have an exact final day of business just yet.

"So, what does the future hold for Grandma? She is going to take some much needed time to relax and reflect on her next move, as she isn't the same lady she was back in 2014, and Denver isn't exactly the same cowtown it was either," the brewery posted.

"We'd like to think we offered something a bit different that still has a place in this great city, but if this is in fact the end, it has been an honor and a privilege to serve you beers made with love in the back of this shabby building. We'd love to see all y'all one last time before we pack up and move on."
