When Natalia Zielinski wrote a letter to the CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy, she did not think it would garner the response she received Tuesday morning at The Academy of Charter Schools in Westminster.

"I just thought it was another writing assignment," Natalia said.

She is a fifth grader who wrote a letter to the CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy on the Anschutz Campus in Aurora. Natalia already knows the wants to be a pharmacist, so she asked for admission to the graduate school.

"You get to make medicine and you get to help people, give them the right medication and make a lot of experiments on it," Natalia said.

In response, a group of pharmacy students including Kelsey Schwander went to visit Natalia at school.

"To reach out to her, just to let her know that if she works hard that she can accomplish anything," Schwander said. "We would love to see her be a pharmacist one day."

Schwander gave Natalia her lab coat and a medallion from the school. The fifth grader also received a pin that says "Future Pharmacist." If all goes as planned, Natalia will graduate from the CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy in 2031.

"It makes me feel more excited and more confident in my future," Natalia said.
