DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Baseball fans will scarf down 19 million hot dogs and another 4.6 million sausages this Major League Baseball season, according to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council.
And Colorado Rockies fans are among those eating the most, along with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers.
Dodger Dogs are a staple for L.A. sports fans. They will eat more 3 million this year. The Rockies and Rangers will sell more than 1.2 million hot dogs, respectively. The Chicago Cubs are fourth with 1 million anticipated hot dogs sales this season.
Those teams all have their spring training in Arizona’s Cactus League.
Arizona Diamondbacks fans will eat 500,000 hot dogs, 115,000 corn dogs and 50,000 sausages this season at Chase Field, according to NHDSC President Eric Mittenthal.
