DENVER — A year after announcing it would open a downtown Denver location, Target is officially opening its doors on July 22.
The Minneapolis-based retailer (NYSE: TGT) has built a 30,000-square-foot, two-story location at 16th and California streets on the 16th Street Mall.
The downtown Denver store is one of six small-format locations the national retailer is opening this week, bringing its total to 71 small-format stores nationwide.
According to Ashlee Justis, the store leader, this location is part of Target's effort to fill a community need. Target was attracted to the 16th Street Mall location for its active, vibrant feel.
"It's really a great opportunity to serve new guests, and the community," she said.
With grab-and-go food items right off the top of the escalator, a CVS pharmacy, an on-site tech expert, online order pick-up and self checkout, it was designed with the average busy downtown Denver worker in mind.
