The 1.4 million accountants and auditors in the U.S. have a faster-than-average job-growth outlook.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the projected percent change in employment from 2016 to 2026 is 10 percent, which is faster than the 7 percent average for all occupations.
Median pay for US. accountants and auditors was $69,350 in 2017, or $33.40 an hour. In Louisville, median pay was $61,440, and the area has 4,660 jobs in the field.
