2 charged in connection to man’s murder in Golden

GOLDEN, Colo. — A man and a woman have been charged in connection to the death of a man who was shot and killed at his home earlier this month in Golden, a release from the district attorney's office for Jefferson and Gilpin counties says.  

Joshua Polaske, 27, and Lacy Barclay, 24, have both been charged for their alleged participation in the death of Kristian Macleod, 44, on April 13. 

Macleod was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 800 block of Kilmer Street in Golden shortly after 4 p.m. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and died a short time later. 

Barclay was arrested the following day, and Polaske was arrested two days after the man’s murder, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Polaske appeared in court on April 22 where he was charged with first-degree murder, distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a weapon by a previous offender and two violent crime counts. 

Polaske is being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 15. 

Barclay is facing charges for accessory to murder and distribution of a controlled substance. She’s being held on a $500,000 bond and has a preliminary hearing set for May 17. 

An arrest affidavit in the case is currently sealed due to the ongoing investigation.
