BOULDER, Colo. — A jury found a Boulder man guilty of sexually assaulting an ex-girlfriend and an acquaintance, according to a release from the district attorney's office.

Omar Abughalib was convicted of sexual assault, unlawful sexual contact with force, and domestic violence for the 2017 attacks.

According to the release, Abughalib sexually assaulted the acquaintance in her home, slapping, strangling and pinning her down when she refused to have sex with him.

Abughalib then apologized, the release says, and asked her not to tell anyone about what had happened.

Abughalib's ex-girlfriend testified that he sexually assaulted her multiple times during their relationship, the release says.

Two other women also testified during the trial, saying that Abughalib repeatedly sexually assaulted them.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera, Abughalib was listed as an integrative physiology major at CU at the time of his arrest, but CU spokesman Ryan Huff said Abughalib is no longer a student at the university.

He will be sentenced on July 12.
