Police say a shooting in Castle Rock Monday evening was not a random act of violence, and they have a suspect in custody.

Castle Rock Police Chief Jack Cauley says the department first got a call for shots fired in the 200 block of Ash Avenue just before 9 p.m. Monday.

Shortly thereafter, officers found two juvenile males around two miles away near South Wilcox Street and Rio Grande Drive with gunshot wounds. They were taken to the hospital, and their conditions are not known.

The two victims drove there from the home where the shooting happened, according to Cauley.

He says the shots were fired near the garage of the house – but investigators are trying to determine whether it was inside or outside.

Police initially said they were looking for two suspects, but it's unclear if there is a second person.

The suspect was not identified, but police did say he was under 18 and arrested at around 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Cauley says the incident remains under investigation. The victims knew the suspect.
