AURORA, Colo. — A 19-year-old man is in custody after his stepfather was fatally shot at their home Sunday afternoon, the Aurora Police Department said.
Police said the shooting happened around 12:40 p.m. at a home on East Applewood Drive. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died. He has been identified as Elijah Massie, 38.
Police said witnesses told officers the shooting stemmed from an argument between Massie and his 19-year-old stepson, Mark Sisneros.
Sisneros left the apartment after the shooting. He later returned and was arrested, police said. He was booked into jail on one count of second-degree murder.
