Denver shooting suspect arrested in Arizona

Luis Gómez Reyes, 35, was killed March 29 in the 1600 block of South Federal Boulevard.

DENVER — A man wanted in connection with a homicide last month in Denver was arrested Tuesday in Arizona, said the Denver Police Department.

Francisco Ivan Romero, 51, is being held for investigation of first-degree murder for a shooting on March 29.

Just before 7 a.m., Denver Police officers responded to the 1600 block of South Federal Boulevard for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found 35-year-old Luis Gómez Reyes suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Denver District Attorney’s Office will make the final determination of charges.

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
