Suspect named in October homicide

Winston Marquez-Morales, 21, was fatally shot on Oct. 18 in southeast Denver.

DENVER — Denver Police on Wednesday named a suspect in the October killing of a man in southeast Denver near an RTD light rail station.

Cesar Castillo-Aquino, 29, is wanted on a first-degree murder warrant related to the Oct. 18 shooting of 21-year-old Winston Marquez-Morales.

The shooting happened around 2:50 a.m. in the 3200 block of South Parker Road, according to a Metro Denver Crime Stoppers bulletin. That's near Interstate 225 in the area of the Nine Mile RTD station.

According to police, Marquez-Morales was shot in a parking lot and taken to a hospital where he died.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers  

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or visit metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000. 

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
