2 dead, 4 injured after 3 overnight shootings in Denver

Denver Police said they are working to develop suspect information for all three shootings.

DENVER — The Denver Police Department (DPD) is investigating three shootings that left two people dead and several others injured early Saturday morning.

Just before 2 a.m., DPD posted on the social platform X about a shooting that happened in the 4800 block of West Colfax Avenue, outside the Viking bar. According to police, two of the four victims died and the other two are expected to survive. Police said there was a disturbance before the shots were fired.

The Denver Medical Examiner's Office identified the two killed as Jason Lewis, 38, and Brandon Houston, 41.

At 2:17 a.m., DPD reported a shooting at 17th and California Streets. There was one victim located, according to police. No information was provided on the extent of injuries to the victim.

At 3:50 a.m., DPD posted on the social platform X about a shooting in the 4400 block of Tower Road. One victim was located and the extent of their injuries was unknown at the time of the post, according to police. 

Police are working to develop suspect information for all three shootings.
