3 people in Douglas County died in double murder and suicide, authorities say

The three bodies were found at separate locations in Parker and Douglas County last week.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — Three people who were found dead in two locations in Parker and Douglas County last week died in a double murder and suicide, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said on Thursday.

The Douglas County Coroner's Office said Brandon Timms, 38, was found dead off a trail near the Rueter-Hess Incline near Ancestry Drive in unincorporated Douglas County a little before 9 a.m. Thursday.

A boy's body was also found with Timms. The coroner's office did not release the boy's name. On Tuesday, the principal of Frontier Valley Elementary School in Douglas County sent an email to families that explains one of their students, Dane Timms, recently died.

Investigators with the sheriff's office found information at that scene that led them to ask Parker Police at 10:15 a.m. to conduct a welfare check at a home on Blackwolf Drive. Parker Police entered the home and found 43-year-old Angel Meyers dead.

On Thursday, the sheriff's office said that Timms fatally shot Meyers, then drove with the boy to the Incline before fatally shooting the boy and himself.

The officers also noticed a gas leak in the home and evacuated homes in the immediate area. South Metro Fire Rescue assisted with shutting off the gas leak, police said.

Residents were allowed back in their homes after the leak had been shut off.
