PARKER — Police have arrested a man in connection to a "random act of violence" that resulted in a shooting near Parker Road and Crown Crest Boulevard back in May.

In a release, police said they recommended charges against Abraham Paquet, 29.

According to Parker police, during evening rush hour on May 22, Paquet pulled up next to the victim’s vehicle on the E-470 exit ramp at Parker Road and fired multiple shots at the car striking the driver once.

Paquet faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, first-degree assault - extreme indifference, illegal discharge of a firearm and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

Parker PD originally called the shooting a "road rage" shooting, but have revised their earlier classification and are now calling it a "random act of violence." Law enforcement said they've no idea on a motive at this time.

Charges have also been recommended against Tara Doxtater, 25, as an accessory to the crime. She was a passenger in Paquet's vehicle, Parker police said.
