Family of girl killed in 2010 still looking for clues about her murder

Chantila 'Tia' Wooten was killed at her home in Aurora in 2010. Her case remains unsolved.

AURORA - The pain of losing a child is something no parent should ever know.

It's a pain Bertha Wooten lives with every day. Her daughter, Chantila Wooten, was murdered on October 8th, 2010 at her home on Clinton Street in Aurora.

Chantila, affectionately called Tia by her family, was twenty-four when she lost her life.

“She was fun-loving, always smiling, always happy,” Bertha Wooten remembered.

Surrounded by family in her Denver living room, she visited her daughter the only way she can - through her memories.

“She was a good person. She loved poetry. She cared for the homeless. She had a good heart…a really good heart,” Bertha Wooten said.

Tia Wooten's case remains unsolved.

Bertha Wooten and her family are asking anyone who knows anything about Tia's death to step-up and help them get some closure.

“It hurts so bad. Nobody knows what I go through every day,” Bertha Wooten said through tears. “I miss my baby. I want to know what she would be like. I just pray somebody will speak up and say something. Anything help. You might not even know that you know something.”
