Man found lying in Adams County roadway was hit by unknown vehicle, CSP says

The 48-year-old man was found lying in the roadway around 11 p.m. last night, according to Colorado State Patrol.

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — A 48-year-old man died after he was struck by a driver who failed to remain at the scene.

According to Colorado State Patrol, just after 11 p.m. Tuesday, someone called to report that a man was lying in the roadway near West 60th Avenue and Federal Boulevard. When law enforcement arrived they determined that the victim had been struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

At this time there is no information about the driver or vehicle that might have been involved in the crash. However, investigators believe the driver that struck the man was headed northbound on Federal Boulevard.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
