Man accused of biting his dog arrested in Boulder

A Boulder man arrested on a concealed weapons violation is also accused of biting his dog.

Chad Naranjo, 49, was arrested by Boulder Police on concealed weapons charged.

BOULDER, Colo. — A report of a man dragging his dog through a Whole Foods store and biting the dog’s ear resulted in Boulder Police arresting Chad Rick Naranjo, but not for the alleged abuse of the dog.

Naranjo, 49, was arrested when police confronted him shortly after 3 p.m. on Thursday inside Whole Foods located on Pearl Street. According to a police spokesperson, Naranjo “displayed a knife when contacted by officers.”

The condition of the dog was not reported, but it was taken to Humane Society of Boulder Valley.

Naranjo was arrested on concealed weapons charges for the knife and was booked into the Boulder County Jail.
