Man dead following motorcycle crash

A female passenger on the motorcycle was seriously injured, and a 76-year-old driver has been arrested for careless driving, according to a release.

BOULDER, Colo. — A man is dead following a crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle at 30th and Bluff streets in Boulder Monday morning, according to a release from the city.

The man and a female passenger were riding on a 2012 Honda Rebel motorcycle and traveling northbound on 30th Street when a red 2013 Lexus RX350 SUV turning onto 30th Street from Bluff Street hit them, according to the city.

The man died at the scene and the female was transported to Boulder Community Health with serious injuries.

The driver of the Lexus, 76-year-old Diane Keck, was arrested for careless driving resulting in death and careless driving resulting in injury, according to the city's release.

Anyone with information about the crash and what led up to it is asked to called Officer DJ Smith at 720-438-5408.

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the victim after the family has been notified.
