FORT COLLINS, Colo. — An inmate at the Larimer County Jail assaulted three deputies, according to a release from the Sheriff's Office.

Frank Gonzalez, 24, was arrested on June 21 and was in the jail on suspicion of disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, the release says.

On Monday morning, deputies said Gonzalez started yelling at other inmates in his housing unit. When deputies approached him, the release says he started kicking his bed and attacked them.

At least one deputy tried to control Gonzalez by tasing him, but the release says he continued fighting them and grabbed a female deputy around the neck.

Another deputy "delivered approved strikes to Gonzalez until he released his hold on the deputy's neck," the release states. He was eventually restrained and put into a cell.

Two of the deputies were treated for minor injuries, one had a broken hand, according to the Sheriff's Office. Gonzalez was evaluated by the jail medical staff and the release states he was not injured in the fight.

The Sheriff's Office said the deputies involved will seek felony assault charges against Gonzalez for the incident.
