DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said a citizen tip led law enforcement to a wanted suspect who had been on the run for the past two years.

Rodney Washington had been on the county’s “Most Wanted” list for a series of felony theft warrants for a 2015 case, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

The 43-year-old was also wanted for crimes out of Lakewood and Denver.

Washington had been missing for two years, but a tip from a citizen led investigators to an address off Cherokee Street in Denver, where he was taken into custody Tuesday morning, the sheriff’s office said.

He is currently being held in the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility. According to the online inmate log, no bond has been set.

Washington is slated to appear in court on June 10.
