Suspect arrested in Aurora shooting that seriously injured teen

AURORA, Colorado — A suspect is in custody in connection with a shooting in Aurora that seriously injured a teenager, police said.

The shooting happened just before 2 p.m. May 3 in a field near the intersection of South Hayesmount Road and East Jewell Avenue, according to the Aurora Police Department.

The victim, a 17-year-old boy, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment, police said.

On Tuesday, police said a suspect, 19-year-old Mark Sisneros, had been arrested. Police added that the victim and the suspect are known to each other, but the nature of their relationship is currently unknown.
