KUSA — The fourth Tuesday in September is National Voter Registration Day – and while there have been events throughout the city, we were drawn to ones that involved the next generation that will shape our country.
According to the Secretary of State’s Office, close to 12 percent of all registered voters are between the ages of 18 to 25.
And 40,000 more of Colorado’s teens are pre-registered to vote, meaning that they aren’t 18, but when their birthday comes, their registration will be active immediately.
In the video above, hear from multiple teens who will soon vote in their very first election why they think doing so is so important.
