‘SNL’ announces final hosts, musical guests of 49th season

An Academy Award-nominated actor will host the season 49 finale of “Saturday Night Live” on Saturday, May 18.

NEW YORK — "Saturday Night Live" will end its season with back-to-back live episodes this month.

The long-running sketch comedy series has announced the final hosts and musical guests of its 49th season.

Maya Rudolph will host “SNL” for the third time on Saturday, May 11. The five-time Emmy Award winner currently stars in “Loot” on Apple TV+.  

Vampire Weekend will make its fourth appearance as musical guest.

Jake Gyllenhaal will host the May 18 season finale, returning for his third time as host. The Academy Award-nominated actor stars in the Amazon film “Road House.”

Sabrina Carpenter, with her newest single “Espresso,” will make her musical guest debut on May 18.

Hosts so far this season on "Saturday Night Live" have included Dua Lipa, Ramy Youssef, Ryan Gosling, Kristen Wiig, Pete Davidson, Bad Bunny, Nate Bargatze, Timothée Chalamet, Jason Momoa, Emma Stone, Adam Driver, Kate McKinnon, Jacob Elordi, Ayo Edebiri, Dakota Johnson, Shane Gillis, Sydney Sweeney, and Josh Brolin.

“Saturday Night Live” won the 2022 Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.
