'Blinky the Clown' laid to rest Tuesday

DENVER - Russell Scott, better known as Blinky the Clown, will be laid to rest Tuesday.

Scott starred in the Denver television classic "Blinky's Fun Club" for 40 years. The show was canceled in 1998.

His funeral service is open to the public and starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Denver Consistory Theatre at the Scottish Rite Center.

He passed away last week after complications from pneumonia. He was 91.

Following the services, Scott will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in honor of Blinky to Shriners Burn Hospitals.
