4 students hurt in crash involving school bus, semi

The Colorado State Patrol said the school bus driver was at fault.

FORT MORGAN, Colo. — Four students were hurt in a crash involving a school bus and a semi-truck north of Fort Morgan Friday afternoon.

The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) said the school bus crashed into the semi at around 4:30 p.m. at Morgan County Road 20 and Morgan County Road T.5.

Morgan County School District Re-3 posted on Facebook that there were 11 students on the bus at the time of the crash. Four of them and the driver had minor injuries and were taken to area hospitals, according to the school district. The other students' parents were notified and they were picked up at the scene.

The driver of the semi was also taken to the hospital, according to CSP.

CSP said the bus driver was issued a summons, but it's not clear what the summons was for. The crash is still under investigation.
