Crash in Denver kills driver

Police said the crash happened in the area of East Colfax Avenue and High Street Saturday night.

DENVER — One person is dead after a crash in Denver Saturday night. 

The Denver Police Department said the two vehicles collided near East Colfax Avenue and High Street just before 7 p.m. 

One driver died at the scene, and the other was injured.

The man who died has been identified as Earl McFarland, 77.

It's not clear what caused the crash. Police said they don't know whether alcohol was involved.

Westbound Colfax Avenue was closed at Race Street while police investigated.
