BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Broomfield Police are investigating a crash that left two people dead and one person in critical condition Tuesday.

Police said the crash took place just before 1:20 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Miramonte Boulevard, which is located behind Broomfield High School

The two people who died — one adult and one person under 18 — were in the same car, according to police. The person who was critically injured was driving another car involved in the crash, according to police. That person was taken to a hospital.

The victims' names have not been released by the coroner's office. A GoFundMe has been created to support the family and identifies the victims as Melissa Powell, 47, and Riordan Powell, 16.

Broomfield Police said a portion of Main Street was closed for several hours due to the crash. The road reopened before 6:30 p.m.
