KUSA - Two Loveland residents who lost their homes during the 2013 floods are finally receiving their "replacement homes."

Joyce Kilmer and Bus Tarbox sat and watched as construction crews lowered their assembled homes in southeast Loveland Monday.

The modular units were lowered onto their concrete foundations using cranes one section at a time.

"I've wanted a house back of my own and this is my dream, and that dream will be put on the foundation today," Kilmer said

For the last two years, Kilmer and Tarbox have each been living with family members.

The two are a part of a program with Loveland Habitat for Humanity that helps victims of the 2013 floods into replacement homes. Kilmer and Tarbox are the first to receive theirs.

Coincidentally, the two have known each other since the 1970's, but say this will be the first time that they will be neighbors.

"It helps that she's the world's greatest cook." Tarbox said.

According to Loveland Habitat for Humanity, Kilmer and Tarbox will have to wait 30 to 45 days before they will be able to move into their houses.
