LONGMONT - A man is being treated at a Denver hospital after he was shot and involved in a crash in the area of 6th Avenue and Collyer Street early Wednesday morning, Longmont police said in a news release.
Just after 2:30 a.m. officers responded to a report of shots fired near 6th Avenue and Collyer Street. While on the way to that location, officers spotted a traffic accident at Lashley Street and East 6th Avenue.
The driver had been shot multiple times and crashed into a parked car, according to Longmont police. He was taken to a Longmont hospital and then transferred to a Denver area hospital for additional treatment.
Investigators could not locate a victim at 6th Avenue and Collyer Street, however evidence of a shooting was found. The victim also told officers he was shot in that area.
