Adam Glod, an account executive with the company, says one of the strangest requests he received was about a computer keyboard.
They said, "Hey I need you to rearrange my keyboard for me. It starts Q, W, E. It doesn't start A, B, C, D," Glod said.
As you might imagine, fielding these strange questions can be taxing, but Glod says it's important for IT personnel to stay professional.
"You have to subscribe to the field of thought that there's no such thing as a dumb question. You have to be there to help," he said.
Glod says educating an employee can help avoid further questions later.
"If you show the personhow to solve the problem and then show them the resource to take care of it, next time they're going to take care of it on their own," Glod explained.
Finally, the Robert Half Technology survey did show that there is a lot of demand for IT technicians, including here in Colorado. Based on the type of questions IT staffs answer, it's easy to see why. To see the complete interview, click on the video link to the left./>
