The person hit and killed by a light rail train Thursday night at W. Bayaud Avenue and Santa Fe Drive, may have stepped in front of the train intentionally, according to a Tweet from Denver Police Department.
Traffic remained shut down in the area early Friday morning. RTD's H Line was also not operating while officers continued their investigation. Passengers who were on the H Line train when it hit the pedestrian were bused to a nearby station, a Regional Transportation District spokesperson said Thursday night.
RTD said the victim was on the tracks at Bayaud and a northbound H Line train struck them.
All trains have been stopped between 10th/Osage and Broadway station due to the fatal crash. A bus shuttle will be running service between those stations for affected commuters.
