Missing Washington couple found dead

Washington State Patrol said the couple from Kettle Falls, whose family members reported them missing in early May, have been found dead on Monday. The couple's truck was submerged in the Kettle River.

 

Washington State Patrol said the couple from Kettle Falls, whose family members reported them missing in early May, have been found dead on Monday. The couple's truck was submerged in the Kettle River.

Officials said Paul and Lynne Schneider have been missing since May 1 when they left their home around 7 a.m. Family members said the pair told them around 8 a.m. they were getting coffee but did not return.

Paul, 72, had medical issues and Lynne, 71, had Alzheimer's, authorities had said.

Troopers said both were found inside their car which was submerged in the Kettle River about 25 miles north of Colville. They said the two had been traveling on US 395 northbound before their car left the road and went into the river. Their bodies were found around 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

WSP is still investigating the cause of the crash.
