COLORADO, USA — A photographer is asking for help scouring Colorado for a missing set of memory cards that hold the only copies of a couple's wedding pictures.
Lenzi Holmes said that "the worst of the worst nightmare came true" in a post she shared to Facebook on Monday morning.
Holmes, who lives in Texas, was visiting Colorado to photograph a wedding over the weekend.
She said in the post that she took pictures at the wedding on Friday, went back to her hotel room that night and put one of the memory cards in her computer, then set them aside to pack.
"That is the last place I remember seeing them," Holmes wrote.
Holmes said the bride has been extremely understanding but that she is still hoping for a miracle.
"We are on a mission and I pray this goes VIRAL," the post reads.
The post also includes a list of every place Holmes can remember going on Saturday, from the last place she remembers seeing the memory cards to the time she noticed they were missing.
Those locations are:
- Hilton Denver City Center
- Target in Boulder
- Horseshoe Park
- Rocky Mountain National Park parking lot
- Rainbow Curve Overlook parking lot
- Glacier landscapes parking lot
- McDonald’s in Winter Park
- Flying J gas station in Aurora
- Payless car rentals
Holmes said she is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone who finds the case of memory cards.
She canceled her flight Saturday night and drove back into Denver to retrace her steps. Holmes guesses the cards were likely lost somewhere at the hotel, but they haven't been located there yet.
A statement from Eric Walters the General Manager of Hilton Denver City Center, reads: “The wellbeing, safety and security of our guests is of paramount importance. We have been in direct contact with the photographer, and will continue to do everything we can in hopes of reuniting these precious photos with the photographer and her bride.”
Holmes also called or visited all of the other places on her list.
She said Coloradans have seen her social media posts and joined in the search.
"It's someone calling and saying, 'Hey I live in Boulder, I’ll run to the Target and double check, what aisle were you on?'," she said. In another call she got, she said that person told her, "Hey I just moved here and I haven’t seen the Rockies, tell me where you stopped and I’ll go and look."
"It seems like the whole state of Colorado is just, like, amazing," Holmes said.
Holmes has been photographing weddings for several years, and she loves the job.
"I love the hustle and the bustle and the fun! It truly is fun, and I've done 60 weddings in five years," she said. "The Lord has really blessed my business. So for something like this to happen, is just flat out shocking."
She called the bride "gracious" for how she has responded to the lost memory cards.
"The very first words out of her mouth were, 'It's ok. It's pictures. I love you.'," Holmes said. "She has the grace of Jesus."
